WHY FIRE TRUCKS ARE IN RED?
When I am child ,my simple question is about fire engine ,why it is red????
In that age it's simple question to all.But it remains as mystery till now. There are three(3) silly reasons to say it should be in red but we need to believe any one of them .
Reason 1:
when you observed the fire engine it have eight wheels and four people on them, and four plus eight equals to twelve .and there are twelve(12) inches in foot, and one foot is a ruler ,and Queen Elizabeth was a ruler, and Queen Elizabeth was also a ship, and ship sailed the seas, and there were fish in the seas, and fish have fins, and the finns fought the Russians, and the Russians are red,and fire trucks are always "Russian" round, so that's why fire trucks are red ! it is very funny but we need to believe that.
Reason 2:
one theory holds that fire trucks are red, because the earliest fire departments were made up of unpaid volunteers.these volunteers didn't have much money, and red was the cheapest colour of paint to use, so they painted their fire trucks red.
Reason 3:
Fire companies wanted to look professional and show their pride in their equipment, so they choose the most expensive paint colour to add on their vehicles to make them stand out .
when we observe Reason 2 and Reason 3 those are similar and quite opposite.
Reason 4:
in the 1920' vehicles mostly in black colour .then fire department wanted to stand out from that see of a black they choose to paint red on it.so drivers would know to get out of the way.
Reason 5:
in daylight red is highly visible and recognizable colour, but during the 1970's research showed that it was the first colour be lost as light faded and that LIME GREEN,and yellow was most recognizable both day and night. many departments switched to lime green but some departments switched back to red .
